Zoran was born in Belgrade, Serbia, but has Portuguese nationality. He currently lives and works in the UK as a Lecturer in chemical engineering at Aston University, Birmingham. Previously, he was a research-staff member at the Centro Química Estrutural (CQE), Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (UTL), Lisbon, Portugal. In 1988, Zoran graduated at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Serbia. During 1988-2000 he worked as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, covering the subjects related to Thermodynamics. In 2000 he moved to Portugal and in 2004 gained his PhD in Chemical Engineering at the Instituto de Tecnologia, Química e Biológica (ITQB), Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal. In the period 2004-08 he was a post-doctoral researcher at the same institution and at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Caparica, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. From 2009-2014 he was a Research Fellow at Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade de Lisboa and in 2014 moved to the UK.
