Update 26: Russia's war with Ukraine

The Ukrainian military announced on 29 August that it had launched offensive operations in multiple areas along the front line in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, perhaps signalling the start of a broad and long anticipated counteroffensive aimed at retaking territory seized by Russia. Although Ukrainian forces spent weeks targeting Russian supply lines with artillery and sabotage operations in preparation for the attack, it is unclear whether they possess the necessary advantage in troops and firepower to retake Kherson.
