On Thursday 4 March 2021, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Mircea Geoană will take part in the Joint hearing on the external policy dimension of AI (Artificial Intelligence), hosted by the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age (AIDA) of the European Parliament.

NATO Secretary General to take part in the Inter-Parliamentary Conference on European security (online)
On Wednesday 03 March 2021, the NATO Secretary General, Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will deliver a keynote address in the Interparliamentary Conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Common Security and Defence Policy, organised by the Portuguese Parliament in the context of Portugal’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
On 25 February 2021, at a high-level online conference, NATO discussed how to enhance its human security approach as part of a broader collective effort with an international community of interest including national experts, civil society, think tank and academic representatives.
On 24 February, the Republic of Moldova received 25,000 disposable suits for biological protection (Tyvek 600+) from NATO’s Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in response to Moldova’s request for international assistance.
NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană welcomed Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto to NATO Headquarters today (24 February 2021) to discuss common security issues and opportunities for further cooperation. The Finnish Foreign Minister also took part in a meeting of the North Atlantic Council.
On Friday, 26 February 2021, the NATO Secretary General Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will take part in the video conference of the members of the European Council and meet the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, at the Europa Building in Brussels.
On February 22, Tunisia received 100,000 FFP2 masks disposable and 15,000 disposable suits for biological protection, from the Pandemic Response Trust Fund. The donation was coordinated by NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) in response to Tunisia’s request for international assistance. It was made possible with financial contributions by Belgium, Germany and Norway.
Submarines, ships and aircraft from eight NATO Allies are taking part in a major naval exercise which started off the Sicilian coast on Monday (22 February 2021). Exercise Dynamic Manta is NATO’s annual anti-submarine-warfare exercise which helps to ensure Allies can operate together seamlessly. Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United States are participating, with five submarines, five surface ships, five maritime patrol aircraft, and a French aircraft carrier with its support ships.
NATO will host a two-day event focused on Human Security on 25-26 February 2021. This will consist of a public high-level digital dialogue and a series of workshops for specialists and practitioners.
On Wednesday, 24 February 2021, the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Mircea Geoană will meet with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Pekka Haavisto, at NATO Headquarters.
