Representatives from NATO’s Defence and Security Cooperation Directorate met with Armenia’s Deputy Chief of Defence, Major General Arthur Yeroyan, and the leadership of the Armenian Armed Forces’ education institutions in Yerevan, on 9 and 10 June 2025. Following a request from Armenia’s Ministry of Defence, a team of experts of NATO’s Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) conducted an assessment of the Armenian military education system, earlier this year. During the visit in June the DEEP team presented the assessment’s results and recommendations to the Armenian Deputy Chief of Defence.

On Monday 9 June [2025], NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte travelled to the United Kingdom for a bilateral meeting with the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, ahead of the NATO Summit in The Hague later this month. During his trip, Mr Rutte also joined British Minister of Defence, John Healey, on a tour of the historic steel production site at Sheffield Forgemasters and delivered a keynote speech at Chatham House.

During the visit, the Committee toured the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and Société Européenne des Satellites (SES). The Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, also met with the Minister of Defence of Luxembourg, Yuriko Backes.

On Monday (2 June 2025), NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic (DIANA) launched ten new challenges aimed at finding the next generation of dual-use deep technologies to help better protect the Alliance’s one billion citizens. Innovators will be able to submit proposals to DIANA’s challenges until 12:00 UTC on Friday 11 July 2025. Selected innovators will join Phase 1 of DIANA’s programme, participating in a six-month accelerator programme starting in January 2026 – becoming part of DIANA’s 2026 cohort of innovators.
